Learn how to make this Modern Menorah in this fun and simple ClayShare class. Using the skills you learn in this class you can make the Menorah as taught or you can modify it to be used for Kwanza or to be a lovely minimalist candle holder.
This class is perfect for all ages and skill levels.
Materials:
2-3 lbs of clay, you can use any clay you like, I am using Laguna 60 clay
3/8” slab, you can use a rolling pin with thickness strip, slab roller or any way you like to make slabs
Menorah Tray Template cut from craft foam (2 3/4" x 13 1/4")
Menorah candleholder Template cut from craft foam (2 1/2" x 1 5/16")
Menorah Shamash Template cut from craft foam ( 2 1/2" x 2")
¼” x ¾” strip of wood(dowel)
Clay Knife, I am using the Dolan 220s,
Flexible ribs, I am using the #3 yellow and #1 red Sherrill mud tool ribs
Sponge
Bowl or bucket of water
Serrated rib
Slip or magic water (recipe available on clayshareresources.com)
Color shaper/clay shaper
¼” flat craft brush
Ware boards for working on and drying on, here I am using ¾” plywood
Kiln, your own or access to one
